Jeff,
Thanks for the watchlist. Loved the presentation, too.

Happy trading all.

Jeff, not only do you feed us delicious nuggets, but you manage to entertain as well and constantly surprise us. I love today's format. I know I said I wasn't going to trade this week but I'm looking at all of them anyway and, well, ya never know. Something just might be irresistable. Thanks!!!

Here's a few to nibble on from the list:

Bull - WLT, MBT, MICC, GD, SOHU, MON, AG, SYNA, JASO, APOL, APA, CVD, ANXL

Bear - CBT, OMG, WSFS, AGGL, CNA, ALOG, APD, XL, AMLN, WHR, PSA, MER, AIV

Hope that helps you get your day going.

Jeff,
Thanks for posting the watchlist so early. I am taking some time off of that Just Over Broke thing (JOB) this week and am dedicating the time to watch and understand more of the market movements. Thanks for all you do.

Rest,
I am in a DEC 125 put and have noticed the price movement down $3.25 but the put price is hardly moving. Is there something I am missing. When I am in any call option theprice movement is "with" the stock price but not on puts. Anyone have some insight???? Also, for all the currencies i.e. FXI, FXC, FXA does Jeff offer any guidelines as to not trade options but only the underlying??? I have been investing (losing) for years but now my account is growing. I am thankful for my God-given brain and my limited education in investools, as well as the Marketcast. I wish Jeff would do more of with Eric as I so enjoy their straightforwardness and their banter. Have a great week.

Lzrball,

JCP was part of the sweet 16 last week, Nice trade!

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 08:28AM | Unregistered CommenterOption Addict

I'd like to add VSRN to the list. It broke from a major base on friday and still offers a nice entry.

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 08:29AM | Unregistered CommenterBrett

also, OSIP and CME are breaking out today amidst the selloff.

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 08:34AM | Unregistered CommenterBrett

All,
My last post was requesting info on a CMG Dec 125 put.
Thanks

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 08:35AM | Unregistered CommenterREBIGDOG

POT is very close to its 50DMA $108.27 - see if holds and bounces.

thanks Jeff!

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 08:37AM | Unregistered CommenterMeena

Jeff,
Are you still in FXI? The price action to the downside is incredible. Down $8.00 at 10:38.

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 08:38AM | Unregistered CommenterREBIGDOG

REBIGDOG - Could it be the IV dropping? I have noticed a plunge in IV on quite a few things.

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 08:38AM | Unregistered CommenterScoot

Scoot,
IV is holding at 50..slightly down last week but holding at 50 is that neutral or what should I be looking for in the IV?

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 08:41AM | Unregistered CommenterREBIGDOG

Thanks for the list Jeff

Thanks for helping us who cannot get to you tube Michelle. What a group :-)

All good stuff

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 08:42AM | Unregistered Commentermahmood

REBIGDOG, ProphetCharts is showing that Implied Volatility for CMG is trading at the high end of its range. Did you get in recently? IV could be dropping. It's showing a small drop just in the last few days...

:)

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 08:46AM | Unregistered CommenterKrystal

REBIGDOG, here is a link to one of Jeff's artciles about Implied Volatility. It's a good one (of course!).

Thanks Jeff! Great list to kick off Turkey week.

I am sitting on my hands watching AZO, ABC, STI and VMC make me some money. :-)

Alex, I feel your pain!

THANK YOU Michelle :)

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 08:52AM | Unregistered CommenterShawn

Here's what sucks about the FXI...I bought OTM puts when the FXI was at 198 and added at 190. I only have a modest profit in it despite the huge drop. Oh well, perhaps it will continue falling.

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 08:52AM | Unregistered CommenterBrett

Krystal,
I got in the trade on Friday, a bit late of the start of the down move. IV was dropping last week but has increased since Wednesday, but vary slightly. You guys are great...anyone else trading CMG????

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 08:52AM | Unregistered CommenterREBIGDOG

I don't mean to trample all over Jeff's incredible watchlist, but if you're looking for other viable puts, the $crx (commodity index) is confirming a broadening top formation. In anticipation of this, i addded several put plays last week on some commodity stocks. Today, BW and AKS might confirm brekadowns. Keep an eye on them.

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 08:53AM | Unregistered CommenterBrett

And a MASSIVE head and shoulders on PTR (also a commodity stock).

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 08:55AM | Unregistered CommenterBrett

Trample my list? Why?

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 09:03AM | Unregistered CommenterOptionAddict

REBIGDOGG,

Yes, still short FXI. I'm hoping for a double digit day in this one.

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 09:05AM | Unregistered CommenterOptionAddict

After posting such a phenomenal list, i didn't want to cloud it up too much by adding to it.

You are doing legendary work here, Jeff, and thanks to you, one of my darkest moments as a trader is now a memory. I wish I could thank you enough, but i simply can't.

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 09:07AM | Unregistered CommenterBrett

REBIGDOG
What I was thinking is that if IV made up a good portion of the price of your option and it dropped, it would reflect in the theo value. You can plug the changes in the IV into a Black-Scholes calculator and see how it should effect the theo price.

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 09:12AM | Unregistered CommenterScoot

REBIGDOG,
I'm showing the Dec 125 Put up 2.30 at 10.00, a spread of .50 CMG down 3.95 and a delta of -.52.
Seems about right to me.

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 09:17AM | Unregistered Commenterjym

michelle you are the greatest!!

thanks

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 09:32AM | Unregistered CommenterAlex in So Cal

Jym, do you see CMG down to $115 ?

David in NH

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 09:37AM | Unregistered CommenterDavid in NH

David in NH,
how do you get 115?
I see it as a H&S with a neckline of 124 which would give a target of ~109.
disclaimer - this is my first H&S call would someone with more experience please chime in.

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 09:50AM | Unregistered Commenterjym

jym - I belive your right - The measure from head to neckline looks to be 20 poiints. So I think around 109 - 110 my be the stop.

David

Fellow STI holders (thanks Jeff!)

I've already made a grundel on this, but I'm having that age old struggle between letting my winners run and taking profits quickly.

Would you mind sharing your thoughts on your STI target?

Thanks!

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 10:10AM | Unregistered CommenterAngela

Angela-
In this type of market climate with all the whipsawing, it's better to err on the side of swing trading, in my opinion.

You're welcome. Consider it a Thanksgiving gift.
Jeff's watchlist is awesome.
Brett,
I'll have to check out your picks, too.

Happy trading all.

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 10:21AM | Unregistered Commentermichelle

Check out ININ too...

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 10:23AM | Unregistered CommenterBrett

All,
Bidu was on the watchlist. With a H&S from 424 to 369 spread. What would you say the target is on this drop of $55? Sorry to all who are more advanced than me, I am an Associate and have not been able to get into a technical studies class as of yet.
Thanks to you ALL!!

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 10:25AM | Unregistered CommenterREBIGDOG

Hey Jeff

Just noticing that IV has plummeted on a bunch of stocks. Is there a reason why, that I'm not aware of? Or is it just because???

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 10:28AM | Unregistered CommenterJodi

Anyone have a target on ESV from the list?

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 10:36AM | Unregistered Commenterjym

Jodi-
I noticed that too! Like straight down... PSA for one.

liz

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 10:39AM | Unregistered Commenterlizandgrant

Brett-
I would rather you be wrong on at least AKS. But I do like the BW set up. Are you looking at your beloved BPHX the same way?

liz

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 10:41AM | Unregistered Commenterlizandgrant

Looks like big MO is breaking out.

David in NH

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 10:44AM | Unregistered CommenterDavid in NH

I bought some BPHX today. I see it in the lower part of a long-term channel and the $17 area seems to be support. I suppose you could argue a reversal pattern is in the works there, but the volume doesn't seem to support it.

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 10:44AM | Unregistered CommenterBrett

yeah, i take that back. just pulled up the chart on BPHX. looks like a quick exit for me.

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 10:47AM | Unregistered CommenterBrett

Jodi and Liz,
FCN volatility took a nose dive as well....

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 10:51AM | Unregistered CommenterLisaG

VRTX- breaking down from bear flag.

liz

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 11:00AM | Unregistered Commenterlizandgrant

LDK looks like its stalling with resistance at $36.
What do you guys think, would love to hear some one else's take on it.

Mon, November 19, 2007 at 11:08AM | Unregistered CommenterTheDude

I think the days to enter put plays are days like friday. this market is probably going lower, but getting in on a down 200 day is like starting a race after everyone else has run 10 yards already.

Sometimes it's better to skip the breakdown and use the market's bounce to enter on a retest. Just my opinion.

Remember: Technically we should go lower, but a bounce can come out of ANYWHERE and there is plenty of news this week.
