On the Important Matter of Transformers

The second one has arrived and it is in my posession. Dad came through afterall.51UsbJJL4pL.jpg

The seller of the first one is still a bastard for attempting to ruin Christmas, and then for taunting me like a prick once he knew about the situation.

Note: An important detail I left out of the story was that I bought and paid for this item almost 3 weeks ago.

Now e-mail him if you haven't already, and bring forth justice.

Merry Christmas...

As you were.

PS- I'm not really this big of a jerk, but it turned into a very pleasant activity for the Holidays. Thanks to all of those who have my back.

Dear Hill billies rejects. I just got off the phone with Ups and they will now deliver this transformer ultimate an extra day late.

I was paid $12 for shipping and my actual shipping costs to ship this to your good buddy jeff was $18. It was shipped out on 12/18 and I do not have any control over the mail

Jeff lives in Utah and that is on the oposite side of where I am from in NYC.

Merry Christmas to all of Jeff friends. You have made my Christmas the most fun ever.

Just that you all have time to think of me, I feel special.

P.S. Jeff still puts out cookies and milk for santa.

Where O Where are the DieHard Option Addicts? Would have thought that more would be trading today instead of returning all those unwanted Christmas sweaters and toasters... BTW someone gave me a Jim Cramer Book - Boy were they wrong in that gift idea! I will use it a for a White Elephant gift next year...

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 07:52AM | Unregistered CommenterKarl

I'm here, and stewing because I sold SOLF on Friday. Nice gain then, but oh what I left on the table.... Not to mention I sold it before it hit my target. Kicking myself today....

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 08:06AM | Unregistered CommenterLisaG

Lisa,
your not alone on SOLF, I had a problem finding a target so I took the bump and got out.

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 08:17AM | Unregistered CommenterAlex in So Cal

Karl ... the Cramer book would be a great White Elephant gift or a door-stop .. :)

LisaG .... we've all been there and done that ... I have 'kickable events' consistently - both up and down - part of the FUN of this stuff. :))) Go get the other great plays out there waiting on us!

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 08:43AM | Unregistered CommenterBenton

Benton,

I am actually using the blank pages as scratch paper for writing my trade ideas on... The door stop is good but I also thought it would make a nice prop for the missing leg on my nightstand... I would not waste one moment of my time to even read the cover. I can not stand to even hear him talk let alone read his crap.

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 08:46AM | Unregistered CommenterKarl

Benton,
Thanks and good point! There is always another trade.... And I keep telling myself that it also could have dropped just as easily, especially in this crazy market! Too many instances lately of having nice profits one day, then the next day they are gone!! I will be happy with the 46% return. Especially considering it was a one day trade!

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 08:50AM | Unregistered CommenterLisaG

Hey Guys,

I am new year and learning a lot. I wanted to ask you what do you guys think about CAAS. To me it looks like it has made a nice triangle since october highs and today its getting out of it?

What do you guys think?

Thanks

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 09:04AM | Unregistered CommenterVivek

Go LisaG ... one day trade? 46%? You won! I have been taking profits much quicker in the last month and benefiting from doing so. I took nice ISRG profits on Christmas Eve - was a nice gift to have even though it had not hit target yet ... just don't know what volatility will be like this week with all of the big money taking the week off.

TO ALL:
I'm watching these today for possible end of day entries. CTRP / ESLT / PCLN / ROP / COF / LTM / PVH
...

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 09:05AM | Unregistered CommenterBenton

Vivek,

Sorry I cannot help you. I am a Options Trader and only trade against stocks of a greater value of $20 or more. I do not like the charts for CAAS for any trade according to my style - it shows a Resistance arae of $9.50 or so and therefore is a limited upside for my 3:1 Risk to Reward entry. My 2 cents worth...

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 09:17AM | Unregistered CommenterKarl

Just took down some GCI puts. Looked like a better entry than the one I saw last week.

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 09:19AM | Unregistered CommenterSupermarioVA

I am in GCI as well. It looks really good for a ride to the bottom of the hill...

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 09:22AM | Unregistered CommenterKarl

I know this post probably doesn't belong here, but I wanted to spread some holiday cheer.

Here's a couple of decent setups i found:

MTN.. trendline and gap resistance holding beautifully. Long-term trendline broken and restested prior too. Seems like a decent entry here.

IRM - broke out/breaking out, whatever. Thanks jeff for that one.

COH - looking like a solid bear flag breaking down early.

Anyone else here today?

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 09:26AM | Unregistered CommenterBrett

Brett,

I posted MTN on the Bearish Trade Thread... I am in it and it is looking good so far.

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 09:29AM | Unregistered CommenterKarl

I've been watching IRM now for a while. I was waiting for some volume, but not sure how much we will get this week....

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 09:34AM | Unregistered CommenterLisaG

I'm here. Glad to see some trade ideas and not xmas stuff...

oxy is breaking out.

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 09:37AM | Unregistered CommenterStrat

I'm here. Long SPWR, POT, TXT, STP.

Puts, GYMB, RL, VMC( watching very cl;osely) and lookin to add to COF.

Hope everyone enjoyed the holiday

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 09:43AM | Unregistered CommenterJamie

Got some AZO puts that are behaving nicely, Jan/Mar $32.50 calendar spreads on C, March 40 puts on AXS. Added to FSLR and POT synthetics. Still huntin' and peckin', volume is light but so is my head from too much Christmas cheer.

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 09:45AM | Unregistered CommenterStan Lake

Brett yes lets thank Jeff for IRM, been riding that one since 11/26 and sitting on 111% profit right now and getting reading to reel some of that profit in.

GCI good looking ree. as well as MTN,

ESRX got in on 12/20 still good looking entery.

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 09:49AM | Unregistered CommenterWahly

Tempting fate, got some GRMN Feb 100 calls. I think they sold a lot of units over Christmas. Also got GET Feb 40 puts.
Stan

Brett

I'm with you on MTN

SupermarioVA and Karl - GCI .. a good call as well ...

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 09:56AM | Unregistered CommenterBenton

NTDOY- Nintendo the makers of Playstation and Wii that they can't make fast enough to supply demand. No options but the stock is available. Doesn't have enough volume to make it an exciting play but I got my wife some shares as a stocking stuffer.
Stan

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 09:57AM | Unregistered CommenterStan Lake

GCI- picked up those puts near the open on Christmas eve, they are also cooperating to the downside and it still looks like a good play to get into or get more of.
Stan

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 09:59AM | Unregistered CommenterStan Lake

NMX- watching for the $134.40 area to be resistance for a bounce to the downside or new support if it can break through with some volume to the upside.
Stan

Benton, Wahly, Karl,

MTN - I just spoke with the Trade Desk at TOS & asked them about the lack of open interest for Feb options (currently 0.00 across the board) for MTN.

In the conversation, he basically flat out said not to trade these options due to the slim open interest & the terrible volume on the stock (avg is less than 500,000 shares/day) & the even worse volume on the options (less than double digit contracts traded today with some at 0). His exact words were "You will get killed in these options. Stay away."

I like the technical setup as an entry for MTN as a put, but how to you feel about the statement above? How do you factor this into your trading rules/decisions if at all?

Very curious as I had not considered these parameters before, except for open interest.

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 10:55AM | Unregistered CommenterGumbo YaYa

Gumbo

upon looking at the open interest for MTN I see what you mean, all 0s across the board and in that case I just move on to another stock as there are many good set ups too watch.

Thanks for the info and covering our backs.

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 11:03AM | Unregistered CommenterWahly

Gumbo Ya Ya,

I have traded MTN on several occassions on it's way up and on the long ride down so I am not worried about it. I use a minimum volume of 150,000 shares on the underlying stock as a confirmation to trade or not and really do not care about OI if the Bid/Ask are within my parameters. The Market Maker has to take my trade when I enter if it is at their Ask Price and has to buy it back when I Sell if at their Bid price. So my bottom line - I am in the trade now and comfortable with it.

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 11:08AM | Unregistered CommenterKarl

What do you think of the inv. H&S forming on MDC? Am I right with the pattern? Is $39 the neckline or do you use the wiskers on 12/10?

Calvin

Wed, December 26, 2007 at 11:14AM | Unregistered CommenterCalvn

TNH appears to be breaking out and could potentially make a good move looking at the price action of the last 6 months. Unfortunately, options are not available.
