Prepare to put things into cruise control this week. Holiday trading is not known for its speed or excitement. However, it should be known that index futures are trading slightly higher as I type this post, indicating a little optimism heading into Monday's session.

Along with preparing yourself for a snoozer of a week, notice that there is not much economic on deck either.

If you decide to place a few bets ahead of the holidays, make sure to take profits after a good gain. Most likely, the market will lack volume, volatility, and direction. In fact, this will likely be the trend until year end, which is where things ought to really pick back up again.
