Very FUNNY in a sick kinda way.

Ticker Symbol: ERIC

Testing the top of a channel today. Volume big on the moves down and low and pullbacks to resistance. Appears to have all the room in the world to fall. A move back to previous closing low of 20 would be a 10% move.

Agreed , funny but sick. But how happy am I that I added to DBA yesterday Jeff. Thanks for your help. I've been on such a losing streak since jan 1, that even when I see very clear and obvious entries on a chart I hesitate (as in DBA). So I dig deep and work through it and move forward, just trying to slowly make my way back. Stick to the rules, follow the charts and not be emotional.

Jeff, NICE!

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 10:48AM | Unregistered Commenterraimo

Wow and I saw it as sick in a funny kind of way.
Always at least 2 ways of looking at anything.

Does anybody else think PFG looks as though it is poised to get slaughtered? Such a weak crawl back up to horizontal and diagonal resistance and showing a doji there today.

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 10:51AM | Unregistered Commenterstepinvest

Eeeeewwwww!

:-)

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 10:53AM | Unregistered CommenterLaney

And Happy Valentine's Day to you too, Scooter!

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 10:53AM | Unregistered CommenterDoji Girl

Uh what looked like potential H&S forming on GLD is now looking like a symmetrical triangle. Yippee!

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 10:53AM | Unregistered CommentergeckoJB

I say we pull of a reversal today, bouncing of diagonal support at 1354 on 5 day chart.

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 10:55AM | Unregistered CommenterKen

I like how it was stabbed in the back!

Nice!!

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 10:55AM | Unregistered Commentermark h

USG on my long list......$34 EE and perfect re-test today..looking to ride this back up to $38..an excellent R/R.....

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 10:56AM | Unregistered Commenterraimo

Jeff,

is that because of Raimo's comments ;-)

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 10:57AM | Unregistered Commentermahmood

wow, bidu has given up its pop. congrats to anyone who faded that on after the open.

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 10:57AM | Unregistered CommenterNate

Way to catch a falling knive

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 10:57AM | Unregistered CommenterBert

I guess sometimes, like the markets, we don't get what we *hoped* for or expected, eh? Brutal Jeff.

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 10:59AM | Unregistered Commenterd_bblake

Jeff
Did you name that valentine bear "BIDU"?

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 11:00AM | Unregistered CommenterDoug

APOL - forgot who asked about this in the last thread but I've been watching this as a long(er) term asc. triangle forming. It was right at diagonal support until today when it crashed through both diag and horizontal which I had at 70ish with volume. THere is also support at 67.50 but I would wait for it to hit that or at least turn back up before going long this. And today's action negates the triangle setup in my opinion.

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 11:03AM | Unregistered CommenterDoji Girl

Raimo
I have APOL in the same channel...I was just curious whether $67.50ish or $69.50ish is the better support. Thanks for your reply.

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 11:03AM | Unregistered CommenterDoug

On the subject of BIDU,
If you want to see a good example of an IV squeeze look at the 260 Calls. BIDU is UP about a dollar to 262. The Feb 260 Calls are DOWN 10.

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 11:04AM | Unregistered Commenterjym

Anyone liking gold at these levels?

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 11:05AM | Unregistered CommenterAms

All I can say to that picture post ... is:

Poor Amber! and on top of that ... "Jeff spent the night at a Holiday Inn" ... which could be his problem ... (the above two not related however. He had an earlier post - power outage caused him to be at Holiday Inn - not Amber!)

Back to work!

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 11:07AM | Unregistered CommenterBenton

Doji,

Thanks.

Sarah,

Not only DBA, but GLD and UNG also worked well yesterday.

To eveyone else,

Sorry about the graphic above...I'm just having "one of those days." Nothing to do with the market, as today isn't all that bad, just all the other stuff thats pissing me off.

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 11:10AM | Registered CommenterOption Addict

Regarding BIDU:

I did hold a smaller than usual position through earnings last night .... but as I said yesterday, you can't believe the tape in after hours ...

It kicked up about 20 this morning at the open .. I got out at 9AM with a nice profit but nothing like it could have been yesterday afternoon.

I have learned post and pre-market numbers can baffle you and I don't trust any of it until actual open.

I picked up about 40 from yesterday AM to this AM ... which was fine and any profit I can take in this market, I'm happy with it. You do have to be careful what option you play in expiration week also ... Will kill you if you are not careful!

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 11:12AM | Unregistered CommenterBenton

Scoot,

You are sick, sick, sick...

Does URBN look to be right at support?

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 11:26AM | Unregistered CommenterJim D

Jeff,
It is about time someone got smart and paid you for your Genius. The general public will be better for it! that is if you take it!

Cheers,
Arty

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 11:26AM | Unregistered CommenterARTY

Jeff,
Maybe a nice box of chocolates and some sushi would help and maybe a nice Japanese beer to wash it down (the sushi of course.)

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 11:27AM | Unregistered Commentermichelle

Raimo,
Empty space here........

Wondering what your reversal pattern in on USG? Please do tell the young student Arty!

While your at it has my beloved HANS started breaking to the downside?

Cheers,
ARTY

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 11:29AM | Unregistered CommenterARTY

Jeff,
Congrats on writing for another mag. Which one so we can subscribe?

By the way, I don't think Holiday Inn will hire you to do its commercial - you know the one where all their customers see the world through rose pink glasses - based on your Valentine's pix today, it is a bit of dry, black humor. Hope your day looks up from here.

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 11:29AM | Unregistered CommenterChristina

Beautiful pic...I hate V Day, but as a wise old man once said "Dont ever, ever ignore V Day if you want to stay married."

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 11:29AM | Unregistered Commentermram

CCJ

Perfect E/E if this shooting star hangs around below diagonal resistance today.

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 11:29AM | Unregistered Commenterstepinvest

raimo

I'm a pretty good excel jockey (from years of necessity...)

ARTY!!! DUDE!!!!! WTF??? LOL

You know I love you man....

I just went long USG off the inter day bounce of $34.

Who you kidding, I know you see what I see....

A fag breakout re-test and a right shoulder (? time will tell)..with the appropiate volume.

How's granny?

Thu, February 14, 2008 at 11:38AM | Unregistered Commenterraimo

Raimo...sent you an e-mail
