Jeff, idgi. The first chart looks very bearish. Why are you going long treasuries? Please to be explaining.

Do you understand the relationship between yields and prices? I included the second chart to try and answer this question before it was asked.

Did you feel the NV earthquake this morning, Jeff?

Re: being fully invested...

I am not fully invested. I still have twelve dollars and eight cents of option buying power!

Needy people... :)

Higher yields = Lower prices

You know, the whole see saw thing.

JH,

No, I didn't notice it. The local news has has "Breaking News" about it for the last few hours. I've heard a few interviews with concerned Wells NV citizens, local law enforcement, and "profesionals."

At this point I wish I would have felt it.

Jeff, I do understand that as prices come down, yield goes up. However is the first chart the price of the t-bond or the yield? If the price and it is heading down, then why would you be long?

Did anyone hear the jobless claims this morning?

I can't seem to find it anywhere.

HOLX is breaking down buy those PUTs. If you want to be safe buy them at the end of the day.

Berkshire:

I am adding your reply post (RIMM & TEX) to "Things that make you go W O W !" file. Following TEX as it dropped $2 in 20 min @ 78.6 fib then settled below earlier supp @67. Most interesting is it shadowed the DJ and SP during it's dip (11:50-12:20) but RIMM remained static. Nice call so far, please keep me a-tuned. And your earlier post was "worth it's weight in GLD.

Anyone like BJS as a good put entry here?

Berkshire,
Jobless claims reported today dropped more than expected, but economists think this is only temporary.

Jodi,

I was just kidding...but thank you for your loyalty.

Doji,

The second chart is the "10 Year Treasury Note Futures Chart" See how the price has declined while the TNX has rallied...Now that the TNX is moving higher, the "10 Year Treasury Note Futures Chart" is poised to move hihger.

Thats why I covered my short, and am going long.

Thu, February 21, 2008 at 11:30AM | Registered CommenterOption Addict

JTK,

I'd be cautious getting bearish on a stock that is up 20% in just a few weeks.

I like AET instead (thanks Greg).

Jeff,

Are you buying CNX calls here?

Thanks Jeff,

Went long IEF on some APR 90 paper this morning. With the economy continuing to sink, and a 50-basis point cut baked in to the stock market, treasuries should have a nice March-long rally.

You should do a post on inter-market analysis. That would blow people's minds!!!!

Thu, February 21, 2008 at 02:05PM | Unregistered CommenterSausalitoMike

Jeff or anyone -

Why would you go long IEF (7 to 10YR) when you can go long LTH (10-20YR) or TLT (20YR)? Correct me if I'm wrong but the move should will be larger the further you go out on the curve.

Thu, February 21, 2008 at 04:09PM | Unregistered CommenterRyan Baird

Ryan Baird,

Because TLH doesn't have options on it. TLT does, but they aren't as liquid as IEF. You could do either, I guess, and probably benefit from any bullish run on the long end of the curve. Just my two cents.

Doji Girl,

Jeff must be going long 10 Year U.S.Treasury Notes Futures---not $TNX.

Jeff,

If I'm wrong---I respectfully apologize and am totally confused.

By the way, what did happen to Eric Utley?

Best regards from Louisiana,

James
