"Volatile Market" Spotlight

Today I will be hosting a free volatile market spotlight. If you would like to register, please click here.

It will be today at 3 MT, 4 CT, 5 ET; and will last an hour long.

I was told the presentation is "personality driven" and will be an opportunity to share my watch lists, my philosophy and my methodology.

How exciting :)

Jym,

I got in to IGT on the 19th anticipating it to go lower. Jeff's comments on casino stock falling helped! Never had a stop.hell, Casino stock, I let it ride til today. just sold!

It looks like ISRG could go parabolic. Just grabbed a couple calls.

Sludge,

Yeah it's frustrating. I'm up on NFLX and GG so far today. It's very tempting to take profits before the weekend. NFLX up almost 30% although it's looking as if the flag breakout's happening soon. I feel like a lost puppy dog sometimes when it comes to taking profits. Maybe I need to start hitting layups before going for a half-court shot (like that basketball analogy, eh?).

Jeff,

What kind of blogging platform do you use for this site. Like everyone else, the time stamp's gotten fairly out of whack in the past couple of weeks.

Fri, March 28, 2008 at 09:53AM | Unregistered CommenterJorge

Liz,

What do you make of USO? I was up 280 per contract yesterday and now it take a little breather and the market makers decided this is enough to take half of my profits. Jerks.

I'd like to watch today's Volatile Market show but there are no times listed for Pacific. Do I have to drive to Utah to listen?

Fri, March 28, 2008 at 09:56AM | Unregistered CommenterLost in Space

Does anyone see a cup pattern forming on amln? I'm not the best at picking out patterns and what all has to show up before the pattern materializes.

Wish my stock picking was as good as my madness picks. 8th place with a bullet.

Bah, sorry Sledge. Don't mind me. For whatever reason, I came into work today. Should have known to take Fridays off, sigh.

Jorge,

I just thought it was funny, man. No worries. Today, my name is "Sludge" for sure. My account proves it. And my wife's cat just vomited on my tax return.

Am I calculating wrong? I'm Pacific time. Usually we are two hours behind Central and three behind Eastern. Is that 8:00 Pacific??

Yay, I finally had a winner!

Just got out of ANR with 168% ROI. Exited due to hitting price target and noticing that the volume on this increase has been decreasing.

What happened to HLF. Took a dive today. Thankfully I sold yesterday on a "don't be greedy" hunch. Can't find any news explaining why the drop.

Fri, March 28, 2008 at 10:05AM | Unregistered CommenterSueD

SueD,

I just drew a sym triangle on HLF starting back in NOV until a breakout on Feb 19th. Based on the sym triangle's width, the price target I had was about $49.50 or something like that. I too exited, but on Wednesday. I guess everybody saw the same thing?

Just looked up definition of cup and handle on Investopedia. Gave a great def. Usually 7 to 65 weeks on the cup with a slightly downturning handle. Shoulda looked it up first. Thx

The Tombstone Dojis on XNPT over the last 4 days is where the time value on my puts is buried. Kiss my chiseled ass XNPT.

Step-

I have a s/r line right around 83/84. Flipping over to a line chart. Next stop though is about 4/5 bucks down. I think it still looks good so far though. IMO

I still don't know how I got involved with this, or the adv options open house for that matter.

Oh well...talking about how I am trading the market is an easy hour spent.

Benton,

Tim and I will be doing more combined work in the future. Should be interesting.

Fri, March 28, 2008 at 10:44AM | Registered CommenterOption Addict

Much obliged Liz. Our charts look quite similar - bad news for you:) - aside from the horizontal line you have around $84. How did you get that?

Fri, March 28, 2008 at 10:48AM | Unregistered Commenterstepinvest

That's not a bad thing ... you're just both quite different which might make for a good pairing. I just review some of his charts sometimes and I don't see - based on what I have learned from you - how in the heck he could ever buy his PUTS from those charts.... but he seems to be a good guy!

I'll look forward to your session .. Thanks again for all you do!

Hi folks

Anyone watching MGM. Looks primed to break down, although not much volume behind the move.

On the long side, the short squeeze is well and truly on with CALM...

Fri, March 28, 2008 at 11:00AM | Unregistered CommenterForceTen

Force,

All casino related stocks are looking a little weak.

Most of them have broken out, or are very close to it.

Should be plenty of steam there.

kelso1,
What is the news on CALM? I didn't see any

Fri, March 28, 2008 at 11:07AM | Unregistered CommenterAlfred

Step,
I've got Apr 35s on MER and I think I got in right when the bottom of the bottom-most wick formed. It is almost impossible to have lost as much as I have on this put. I am unique.

Speaking of kissing your chisled ass (as you did) I should inform the world that I broke the toilet seat yesterday when I sat on it. Catherine has told me if I don't stop it she's going to throw out my "Buns of Steel" video.

AMLN is fianlly starting to show us some heart. I think this may be the start of something beautiful.

Fri, March 28, 2008 at 11:10AM | Unregistered CommenterChris and Catherine

Liz,

Getting in to FDP. I eventually bit the bullet and adjusted my limit for a 2/3s position, and left the other third at my original price in case there was a bit of an intra-day decline. I'd still be happy with 2/3 position. It's not a huge profit/loss difference, but 5-10 cents on a 50 cent option is kinda a lot.

Fri, March 28, 2008 at 11:16AM | Unregistered CommenterCameron San Diego

Chris...

Get a room...just don't tell Catherine.
