The "Option Addict Madness" Tournament will name it's winners tonight. The last two teams standing will battle for the NCAA Men's Championship title. Speaking of "battle" here are the standings heading into tonight's game.
As a reminder, I will be sending off the first, second and third place prizes after tonight's game. I will be in contact with the winners via e-mail to arrange the details. Thanks again for playing everyone...Good luck!
PS- This weeks watchlist will air after the game is over.

DrDirt,
Donation...Wager?, Donation....Wager?
Jeff,
C2 is about to leave the flock. Can you work some magic and trap him into our addiction?? I know he only thinks he wants to leave. We know what is best for him. Be the ball, Kohler!
C2 is leaving?
The blog?
What's going on?
Jeff i'm coping a post from C2 today. Raimo asked C2 to be more detail in the reason.
raimo,
It's been a tuff month for me, and there are times when I can't get to the blog for 2 or 3 days. I think if you go back and look at last week's postings and tried to look at it objectively you will find it strewn with stuff that two months ago you would have blown a gasket over. I was away Monday - Wednesday last week and went through almost 900 posts when I got back and I think I got maybe 10 good ideas.
I think maybe my trading style if morphing somewhat too. I simply can't be on the computer as much as I need to be to trade this style. When I'm away... I get killed. I need to find a different way of doing things and I'm finding what I'm reading on the blog is a hundred different people trading a hundred different ways.
All the talk about which way the market's headed and who's right and who's wrong has left my head spinning and I just think to myself "Who cares? The market will do what the market will do. The shares will do what the shares will do. Yes there may some influence but do we really need to spend this inordinate amount of time berating each other on market direction?"
Anyway. I don't think so. Obviously I'm in the minority. And rather than try to impose my will on the group I will bow out. I don't have the time to post enough to make a big impact on the group... so I will leave you to persue the new direction. If the majority like and learn from it... then it's a good thing.
Stan Lake,
I'll be cheering on those Tigers and you shall be crowned the first OA Madness Tournament Champion. Go Memphis!
Jeff,
Great to have you back and thanks for putting this bracket "battle" together. It was a blast. Stan may become champ, but you're still the king. Did I mention go Tigers? And one more thing, JK, could you work some of that special Kohler voodoo and have them win by at least three. ;)
Jeff,
You probably already have this but in case you don't, here is Chris's email.
chris200@cogeco.ca
Work your magic, we need Chris and the bag of hammers!
as a parttime trader i agree with C2 this blog can improve little more. if we can accomdate EOD option trading. There are people like me who ae not trading all the time just lunch hours.
I also want this place to be good learning site rather than bragging where dow is going prediction. TRUTH is nobody knows so why predict.
I left RYDEX funds trading which i was doing very good, not because its was not working actually its making close to 45% YTD. I wanted to decrease the downside of fully invested.
If you want more info join poor2rich yahoo group.very nice strategy minimum work.
QUESTION - if my system says go short now untill there is a pullback and then increase of 1% in index. what would be good strategy.
I baught 3 QID 44 contracts. I later realized i should have bought 40 QID calls and sold 44QID calls. This all based on diredtion play of market being down.
I need some help from option seniors if your data needs to you to go short what would be a ideal vechicle and strategy.
Am I the lone Kansas Fan?
Go Kansas!!!
I think C2 has been around a bit longer than I have and I came to the same conclusion he outlined around the end of last year. I used to post at least a couple of times a day and now luckly if it is weekly. I cannot and need not read every post. In fact I fly threw them and read those that I know. Jeff, taugh me that sometime back as "we do not know who is on the other side of that post." Chris, my friend, if you are still reading I am with you but I think it is more about growth and seeing some things clearer for ourselves. I have been beat up in the market and now and down again but amazingly I feel like I know more than ever and know why I am down and what I need to do about it. A year ago that would not have been the case, I was still wondering why we each had to find our own rules.
I suggest not trying to read every post and check in when you can as an honored guest. If you leave Liz and I will have to come after you!
Am I the Lone Kansas Fan?
Go KANSAS!
C'mon Kansas..
I can relate to C2s comments.
On days when I can be at the computer all day it is pretty cool to have the some real time interaction, almost like a chat room.
With that said, every time I have been away from the blog for a period of time, like the past week or two, I have this urge to read all of the posts, for fear of missing something important.
Despite those feelings, I try to treat it like a missed trade - I have to feel comfortable walking away from it and not trying to chase it.
Now I have some reading to do.
Memphis, Baby!
Sorry for the Double post
GO KU!
Where is everybody? Is there a game on tonight?
Who cares about the market, this game is sick. OT, it does not get better than this.
Jeff, thanks again for hosting the bracket.
OT!
What a great game so far!
Nice shot
OT Baby!!!
That was a great game. Does it mean I should buy breakouts leveraging with way OTM calls? Or is that Puts??
KANSAS!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Ben.
I was starting to have my doubts.
What a great comeback
DMS425-
That's how I trade :)
Oh wow...
Great game. Congrats, Rick!
Oh, that's you in first Rick...I get your excitement.
Congrats Jeany!!
Congrats Chris, and everyone who did better than me...which is everyone except Sue (sorry to call you out Sue, but we suck).
Looking forward to the watchlist Jeff.
Market likes Kansas as winner...up 10 points since game over... :)
Berkshire
The following three months after a team wearing blue wins in Championship the market goes up on average 12.56%. Followed by a 9.27% correction.
Congrats Rick, you earned that one.
Fantastic win, Kansas! My first ever tournament. Beginner's luck. I am so happy. Thank you Jeff for hosting!
I was also away for about 10 days as my first son was born. I relate to C2's post. I work long hours and have no more than 2 hours a day to dedicate to trading / studying the mkts. Most of the time it is after the mkt is closed. I took a 5% beating last month and decided to take a break and analyze my trades.
I can also relate to the Greatness post Jeff put on. I am in the medical field. It has a lot to do with trading. The BIG diference is that when we trade, we don't trade WITH or watch someone for a while to learn the craft as it is in the medical field. So most of the time we have to learn thru the school of hard knocks. having someone like Jeff is great but it does not solve one major problem: Helping us finding what is really wrong. Just food for thought
I love it. Calipari said Memphis would make their free throws when it counted. Guess what. They didnt and i think it is hilarious. My only problem is that i am a Mizzou boy and cant stand KU. Wish North Carolina wouldnt have laid an egg against Kansas.
