It's On
Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 09:29AM Yes, it is true. Option Addict is once again open for business.
As you can see I've decorated the place a little bit. I figured that since I will be coming out of retirement, I ought to go back to my roots and use a similar decor to that in which I started over at blogger. I needed to convince myself that I am starting from the ground up, even though my ground level is still at an elevation others don't understand. Despite the nice ensemble, the site still needs a little work under the hood as you can understand, so don't touch too much, save you are unafraid of breaking stuff that I will eventually need to fix anyway.
Aside from the new look, you may be wondering why I've decided to come back. Honestly, I do miss it. This site has been my alter-ego, and has allowed me to speak my mind and act out all of my emotions, all at the expense of others. I miss speaking freely to the millions of Addict's that visited the ol' OA and I've felt that a part of me has been missing since I've been without it.
Going forward, my intentions are to speak my mind, much in the way that I did circa 2005-2008, and try to provide a little content that will spice up the blogosphere, which coincidentally, has reached all time lows. Even though it never was my intent to abandon this site, which was in fact a fourth child of mine (step-child, of course, of the red-headed variety), the year off has done good for me and my family, and I am in a place where I have given this plenty of thought, and have committed to the effort required. For my family, friends, and loyal supporters, thank you for the encouragement. I always loved to blog, and frankly, I am a better trader while doing it. Not to mention, I do entertain myself. Most of the time.
Times have certainly changed and I have plenty to say. In closing, please bear with me as I attempt to find a groove, but in the meantime, welcome back to Option Addict.
Sincerely,
OA

Welcome back friend! Your voice has truly been missed!
Thanks Duuuuuude. I appreciate the warm welcome.
OA
I enjoyed learning from your trading style. I kept your site bookmarked in case you came back checking every month or so. Look forward to more "Free-loading".
I never saw Chuck Norris cry before. Now that you're back, he's weeping tears of joy. First time for everything.
By the way, I found an old sandwich in the OA lunch room refrigerator left by SpartaChris from a year ago.
I threw it out, but we need a scented candle in there.
Welcome back, Broseph.
Sledge,
LOL.
I'll take your scented candle and "throw it on the ground."

Nice move, Baby. Holy Shit Guy, I have not been able to swear for a whole year at Trading Addicts...you know, decorem and all.
Mother Licker. Ok, well it is a good start.
Just feels right it here.......

Glad to see you are back Jeff, seeing you back in action brings back fond memories of times past. I have come a long way because of you(and many harsh lessons from the market). I hope the blogosphere is ready for your return. I am playing Jay-Z "The Ruler's Back" in celebration of your return. Let's do work!
Ben
WOW!

LOL. It never gets old: http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/clips/digital-short-on-the-ground/1163292/
Haha I dusted off the old mybloglog account so hopefully I can get that working somehow. Booyah!
Ben (AlphaTrader)
Welcome back! I had a blast reading OA before I knew anything about trading, as I'd duke it out with real traders on why AAPL was going to break 200 because the iPhone was oh so cool - that would be a breaking of 200 in June of 2008 (HAHA).
Are you going to bring back Disqus? It's really nice being able to see peoples comment history, etc.
I knew there was a reason why I kept this RSS feed for so many months. It is great to have you back. Looking forward to some insightful and entertaining comments on the market. When are we going to play ball again? And hey, can I get a price check on Dollar General?
Good to have you back Jeff - looking forward to hopefully proliferate postings. I have been on a roller coaster ride over at ES myself and started to take it a bit easy in the past few weeks. These days I only post when I really 'feel it' - I'm sure you know what I mean.
So, what would it take to for you to actually do a guest post on ES? ;-)
Hi dude,
good to have you back on board. I missed OA very much!
Gery
Welcome back Jeff.....you have been missed.
I missed this community a lot, good to see some of the old posters showing up as wewll
i have greatly missed your guidance and words of wisdom!
Hey Jeff!! Welcome back!! Remember me?? I am in Iraq now but ''only'' for 8 more months haha!! I volunteered to return to the Army as a Captain and I said, ''what the heck...I need a change of pace!!'' I missed your blog and I look forward to reading it!!! I've been keeping myself busy selling options...not as sexy as swinging for the fences but I always preferred the slow life!!
Bryce
I never really left the site, although i was sad to see traffic on the site take a dive the way it did. Glad you are coming back. Slope and Evil Speculator have just been much to sour in flavor for my taste.
Dylan
Dylan - nice move to start pounding on other blogs as your first post - very classy. BTW, where is YOUR analysis or are you just here to suck on Jeff's tit again? Freeloaders...
Anyway, I'm not taking sides and I will not be sucked into blog drama. Despite my bearish stance I appreciate ALL perspectives when it comes to trading.
What's wrong with making fun of the Slope? I thought it was the trendy thing to do.
Nate - actually if you think about it - that would be an excellent signal for contrarians ;-)
MY analysis sits in a journal in my office...right next to my trade journal. Props to you mole for publishing yours on the web, but for me:
1) I dont have the time to do so
2) Wouldnt really care to do so anyways
As for freeloading, OA helped me several years ago to begin to read charts more efficiently, and hammer out a clearcut and successful trading plan. Most of my trades are not taken from this site and I dont even trade options. But I do welcome back a voice that speaks more to my trading strategy.
As for your site mole, it may be a great aid to many, but it just didnt work for me. I often found that your analysis threw my own into confusion...sigh...i guess to many emotions mixed with to many opinions can be a bad mix in this biz.
Just like old times! Nice to see you back in business... i never removed this site from my homepage...thinking that one day it might rise up again and here we are! Very nice sir!
Glad to see your back in business, I always enjoyed your humor and wisdom!
Just saw your site today....looks great. I am perfecting the mini-rant on my site, acting out all my emotions at the expense of others who unfortunately stumble across it.
Even some good charts and unique inidicators
Stop by, if you like it through up a link.
Dont ever leave us like that again lol!
This is going to be great!
Thank you, Jeff, for coming back!
Love the new look, and I still faithfully check out your weekly watchlist, because it's just darn hard to beat. When you said last week that you were "thinking" about returning to blogging, I didn't know you meant right then and there. Durn! I missed a few days of good stuff.
I'll be keeping an eye out for your wisdom from here on out. All the best, C
So I thought 70 degrees and sunny in Pittsburgh on November 14 was great, but it's not shite compared to JK coming back!! Let's get this baby up and running at full speed again...
