Drawing Trendlines

Reader Comments (44)

Jeff,

To be honest, the video could have been better. Might I suggest having Halle Berry in your next video?

Great video sir. Definitely something I need to watch a few times just to make sure I have it down pat. Thanks for the video!

Jeff,

Do you watch any other indicators? MACD? RSI?

In a word, superb !! Thank you, the "empty space" theory has been killing me, and I didn't know it until now.

You da man

Excellent video. One more question though. Should I set my chart to Log Scale for charts 1 year or less in time? This has a fairly dramatic impact on the chart at times.

It's a keeper - I'm going to record it to keep forever...

Thanks again Jeff.

Jeff: Very informative. Like Ken, I could not reconcile "empty space". Thanks for the video.

Great video on trendlines, Jeff. I like the way you cut it down to simple terms. It made me re-think how I look at trendlines. Thanks!

Enjoyed the video, Jeff. Could not tell exactly what your trading time frame is. Daily is a short term look?
Thanks

I agree with going off of closing prices when using daily bars.

However, if you want to use intraday data for your trendlines, you should be looking at minute bars

My opinion, but it seems to work out and make sense....

Great video - When does the book 'How to Succeed at Trading Options" by Jeff Kpohler hit the book stores. When you combine your archives and videos you are almost there already.
Thanks

Charlie Murphy!

I see you are quoting me again. Love the trend video. Like some of the other bloggers, I appreciate the reminder on empty space and valid/invalid patterns. FYI for the other bloggers, I have found Bulkowski's book "Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns" to be an awesome reference book on the subject of patterns.

Haven't blogged or e-mailed in a while. I am still p#@$ed at you for letting the marketcast go to hell and letting Utley get away....but I am trying to get over it.

We appreciate all you do for us, Jeff.

Jeff:
Funny how we all need a refresher course from time to time on some of the basics of Technical Analysis. Thank you for taking the time to review this topic with us.

I especially appreciate the reminder on Empty Spaces. I must admit, your style of explaining this aspect will make me remember it much easier going forward,

Again and as always, this Blog Rocks!

You see..this is why I like IT less and less now. This kind of valuable lesson should be taught in the Advanched Technical class, but.... IT charged us so much, but I learn more from you blog!

Again, thanks!!. Emptiness, wow, makes sense. That terms applies to me in other ways too. Account wouldn't be as empty if I'd conform to my own rules too. I seoond Jeremiah's suggestion for the topic of picking the right option. I go through an analysis to decide which strike price is the better deal as far as ROI goes. It can get tedious if I am looking at several stocks. Am I wasting time to do so?
